Zornitsa Stoyanova hasn't added a story.
My name is Zornitsa and I am an immigrant, a mother and a multidisciplinary artist.
Since 2006 I have produced dance support platforms in parallel with my own artistic work in Philadelphia.
I care deeply about sustainability in the dance community, both from the individual life/career balance perspective and on organizational level.
The life of an artist is a constant hustle. By the time artists reach their 30's and 40's many stop making art due to burn out and/or inability to make a living. I battle that though creating FREE platforms that support dance artists and offer the audience a new and meaningful way to engage. I strive to create a community centered around the experience of here and now.
Why I do what I do and why it is important:
The United States is the ONLY developed country in the world
that has NO Ministry of Culture. This country made off of the most
amazing plethora of cultures, peoples and wealth of innovation and
ideas, has no comprehensive way to cultivate and preserve its most
important asset - culture.
So individuals like you and me have to preserve and further it
in any way we can.
I work in the field of dance and performance, which within itself is possibly the oldest and simultaneously the least appreciated art form.
Creating opportunities for moving together and gathering for performances that unite us instead of pointing out our differences is my calling. I focus on creating new experiences in dance that bring us together and help us all get out of the digital world and in the now.
I think this is incredibly important especially in this
political climate.
My values:
I create programs that further conversation and collaboration in the local and global dance performance field. I care about a sustainable dance community and strive to connect with and serve other independent dance/performance makers locally and internationally. I value the exchange of ideas and sharing of methodologies. I care about rigorous research and experimentation in the field of dance both in performance and organizationally. I strive to create a community curious and excited about blending of genres in performance, experimental-ism and, surviving and thriving in hard political climates. I hope though mutual effort we can elevate each other and further the research and expressions of dance.
Help me make this happen this year!

Perks
Did you know I make websites? I specialize using WordPress platform and have created many sites for non profits and artists. If you need help navigating this digital world, I can help you with an hour long phone meeting discussing your needs and coming up with information structure and help you set up or better your excising site.
In March and April 2020, I will be teaching a 6 week series of weekly classes on Improvisation Technique for Performance. You will be invited to attend all classes for free. Or may be you want to gift this to someone you know in Philly? The classes will build up from simple choreographic ideas, toward more complex solo and group forms including using language and text.
If you are making work that has anything to do with movement and are looking for feedback and dramatical help, this is for you. I will come to your rehearsal in Philly and will allocate a whole hour to talk about anything and everything you need.
If you consider donating more than $200, your name (or your business's name) would be featured in every social media and newsletter promotion with links to your landing page. A reach of about 9000 people in and around Philadelphia though dance and theater listservs, social media and my newsletter.
