Mark Bonus hasn't added a story.
Hello everyone! My name is Mark Bonus , some of you may know me and some may not . A little bit about myself, I was b orn and raised in E ast Vancouver and n ow residing in White Rock. Growing up I have always been into the sport of boxing . I've been in and out of different gyms throughout the years but once I was introduced to Eastside Boxing Club and the team in Sept 2015 I have been hooked ever since!
Since then I have continuously trained at ESB and gained respect for the gym and the team. Not only are the coaches incredible but knowing what they do for the after school /outreach program is amazing.
Our goal at Aprons for Gloves is to raise a minimum of $2000 . The money raised will be going t owards the Eastside Boxing Club outreach and mentorship program for at risk youth and women of the downtown eastside.
Now where do I stand in this??? I am excited to annouce that I have teamed up with White Rock Beach Beer Company! Once our donation goal is met, this then gives me the opportunity to potentially fight in the 5th annual Aprons for Gloves event which takes place on July 27 at the Commodore Ballroom! YES, this means I could be fighting in a Ring with another opponent. I have watched a lot of boxing matches and it would be amazing if I could actually be part of one. So hopefully I get the opportunity to fight but regardless it will be one hell of a show !
Please help us reach our goal by donating to a great cause which in return gives me a chance to fight…or more like you guys can watch me get my ass kicked!
Founded in 2012, Aprons for Gloves Boxing Association is a non-profit organization focused on providing community outreach through the sport of boxing. Based in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, the organization was developed by a small group of professionals and entrepreneurs who seized an opportunity to re-establish a historic boxing program for at-risk women and youth. The program offers free mentorship and training to individuals who may otherwise not have the resources or support to participate in such activities. The sport of boxing teaches discipline, respect, hard work and self-control. Training results in positive self-esteem, good health and camaraderie for its practitioners.
Restaurant Rumble 2016
Every year bartenders, chefs, dishwaters, servers, baristas and all sorts of individuals from the Gastown community get together to train at the Eastside Boxing Club to fight in Restaurant Rumble.
In order to attend training, each fighter is required to raise $2000 for charity before they can compete at the Rumble.
